West Edinburgh Link

Our vision is to transform cycling, walking, public spaces and accessibility for all within and around one of Scotland’s key business parks, in the west of Edinburgh.

The project will connect up South Gyle, Edinburgh Park and local neighbourhoods with high quality walking and cycling routes and new public spaces.

Project details

We aim to deliver new walking, cycling and public spaces throughout the project area: East Craigs, South Gyle, Bankhead, Sighthill and Wester Hailes. Our proposals include new segregated cycleways, crossings and public spaces. Give your feedback on our proposed improvements to public spaces.

Our Reasons

The project has lots of great benefits for the local area and Edinburgh as a whole. You’ll see the benefit too – you can save money on car trips and improve your health. Find out more about the benefits, and the feedback we’ve had so far.

What do you think

As the West Edinburgh Link  project nears completion of its latest design stage we wish to consult with residents of Gogarloch and South Gyle estates. This consultation regards measures to protect residents streets from potential increases in commuter parking due to the removal of parking on South Gyle Crescent.

Who, how and When

Creating the new route is a big project, with lots of people contributing over the next four years. Find out about the project team, funding and timeline of what’s happening.

Questions and Answers

Although the current proposals are concept designs, we’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the concerns of the community as we prepared them. Find out our answers to key questions about the project.
